autumn art retreat 2026
Following our sold-out and super-enjoyable Autumn Art Retreats in 2024 and 2025, artist Roz Berkeley-Hill and I are excited to be offering another next year.
Autumn Art Retreat: Friday 25th - Sunday 27th September 2026
Come to Hope Cove House for a long weekend of creativity with us.
Enjoy a relaxing, art-filled escape on the south Devon coast, with four guided art workshops, amazing food, beautiful views and like-minded company.
Taking place at the very special location of Hope Cove House; a 10 bedroom beach-side restaurant with simple, stylish rooms, and amazing, locally-sourced food, located at Inner Hope, near Salcombe.
Learn to paint the Tipperleyhill way.
There will be Roz’s signature florals, expressive mark-making techniques and lots of experimental creativity, all with expert artistic guidance from Roz and friendly support from me.
The Retreat is for anyone who loves colour and is open to new techniques and ideas. Suitable for any ability – Roz will bring out your inner artist! You’ll go home with several completed pieces and lots of inspiration and tips for painting more. There will also be time for a walk along the coast, a dip in the sea, or just to relax in front of the wood-burner, so you'll leave feeling refreshed and inspired.
The Retreat includes:
- Accommodation in beautiful en-suite rooms
- Delicious, freshly prepared breakfast (Sat/Sun), lunch (Sat/Sun) and dinner with pre-dinner drinks (Fri/Sat) - All art tuition and art materials - £950 per person for single occupancy or £775 per person for 2 people sharing a large room (all sharing rooms now fully booked)

SOME LOVELY WORDS ABOUT OUR RETREATS. . .
“Five minutes into our first session and our lovely tutor Roz Berkeley-Hill has already put me and my fellow painters completely at ease. Our group is a mix of art virgins and regular dabblers, and Roz’s happy energy transforms us all into a carefree bunch, painting with our fingers.
Undiluted creativity works up an appetite... We eat on a terrace overlooking the sea, just 100 metres away... and the cooking is simple in the best possible way, showcasing classic skills and fresh local produce.
In between sumptuous meals, we tackle flower painting, open-air sketching and landscapes based on those stunning views. A loose, expressive approach is encouraged and a wide range of materials, from acrylic paints, fluorescent inks and soft, buttery wax crayons are all available to try.
It’s the creative journey that counts, and this has been a journey that lifts the soul.”
“Just the best weekend with the loveliest people; a creative, safe, encouraging space with no competition, just a supportive environment for everyone.”
“This weekend in Hope Cove reminded me how important it is to step back and take time to do things that you love. I met an amazing group of inspiring women, I learned new art processes, stayed in a wonderful hotel, enjoyed incredible food and even swam in the (very cold) sea alongside wild seals curious enough to watch us. Devon at its best.”
“Last weekend’s retreat was in a beautiful location - a jewel in Devon’s crown - a secret place. The hotel was welcoming and homely. The food nourishing and naughty (all the cakes). The art projects were challenging and therapeutic. It was lovely to be inspired by other creative souls and I would love to join another of your retreats.”
“Thank you both so very very much for an amazing weekend! I loved all of it and felt you went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time! I will be back again.”
